Danbury students were among those honored by Immaculate High School at a special Honors Mass to celebrate all students who earned honors status for the 2017-18 First Semester. The Mass on February 11 was celebrated by Monsignor Robert Weiss of St. Rose of Lima, Newtown, who congratulated students for their tremendous charitable work and community service.
"Students at Immaculate are intellectually diverse; we are proud of each of them as they strive to achieve academic excellence. We commend especially our honor roll students for employing their God-given talents and recognize them for the exceptional efforts that they have demonstrated in order to excel academically while balancing extracurricular and personal commitments," said Mary Maloney, President.
The event was held in the school’s Robert Plumb Gymnasium followed by a breakfast provided by the Immaculate Parents Association and performances by the IHS Concert Choir and musicians.
"I am very proud of the academic achievements of all our students - especially those who have worked to earn Honor Roll distinction within our Immaculate High School community,” said Dr. Patrick D. Higgins, Principal. “Their work is also supported by our caring and dedicated administrators, coaches, faculty and staff, as well as their parents and guardians. Working together, we continue to make Immaculate High School an outstanding college preparatory experience”, he added.
