The City is looking for volunteers to pick up litter in their neighborhood, parks or waterways. You do not have to be a Danbury resident to participate in the clean-up! The Mayor’s Office provides supplies such as trash bags, safety vests, gloves, and pickers. If you are planning on picking up litter around the city, please request a volunteer form so that we can know where you will be leaving the garbage for our Highway Department to pick up.

Volunteers are also needed, but limited, at each of our four dumpster locations. Volunteers at dumpster sites will assist residents in the drop-off process.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Austin Samuelson, the Community Services Coordinator. Email a.samuelson@danbury-ct.gov or call 203-797-4511.

Resident Drop Off Information

Clean your home or property of debris and unwanted items! Dispose of them free of charge, at any of our four dumpster sites. Bulk garbage dumping is limited to Danbury residents and residential property owners ONLY (proof is required).

No commercial vehicles or box trucks will be allowed.

Construction debris, grass clippings, yard debris, hazardous wastes, and electronics are NOT allowed. Also note that scrap metal, tires, and white appliances containing freon are allowed, but must be kept separate from other garbage.
