United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) seeks nominations of youth leaders in community service and volunteerism for its Emerging Hero Awards through July 9.
The Emerging Hero Awards celebrate the accomplishments of the newest generation of volunteers and community leaders. United Way seeks nominations of area high school-aged youth (grades 9-12) who demonstrate strong leadership in volunteerism and community service.
“Our Emerging Hero Awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the contributions that young people make to our communities,” said Kimberly Morgan, CEO of UWWC. “We look forward to shining a light on the accomplishments of these young people at this year’s Hometown Heroes celebration.”
Nominations are open to young people from the following Western Connecticut towns and cities: Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Warren or Washington.
