Statement from Mayor Dean Esposito

“Working with the City of Danbury Health and Human Services Department, I wanted to give residents an update on the Covid-19 Response. When this pandemic began, I was your Chief of Staff and now as Mayor it is my responsibility to continue to lead Danbury during an unprecedented time and bring us back even stronger. We’ve administered tens of thousands of vaccinations, masks, and self-test kits. Together, we have used all of these tools to fight this terrible pandemic, and we are coming out of it stronger.

Simply put, we’re going many more defining successful moments because of you. As your Mayor, I have spent the first two months of my administration focused on our Health Department and our Public Safety.  Our Health Director Kara Prunty, our Emergency Management Matthew Cassavechia and all of their team members and our partners have stepped up to this challenge. This pandemic threw everything at us during the last two years, and as Danburians we showed Connecticut how compassion and resiliency triumphs. The best success story is yet to come, and we’re going to write that chapter together.”

Continued Recommendations:

  •          Get vaccinated and boosted
  •          Wear a mask in public settings
  •          Do your best to stay healthy
