Today, Mayor Dean Esposito named Shay Nagarsheth as Director of Economic Development for the City of Danbury. Nagarsheth’s combination of business experience and public service makes him the right choice to lead the Office of Economic Development for the Esposito administration.
“Shay Nagarsheth will make a tremendous Director of Economic Development because of his passion for the City of Danbury and his experience with businesses of all sizes. Danbury is the shining city on the hill for the State of Connecticut, and with the leadership of Shay Nagarsheth we will not only continue in that tradition but expand upon it,” said Mayor Dean Esposito.
Previously, Nagarsheth had been employed by Comcast as an Enterprise Account Executive and Business Account Executive since 2015 and prior to that he was the General Manager of Verizon Wireless in Stamford, CT from 2005-2015.
“I’m honored to be named Director of Economic Development by Mayor Dean Esposito. With his vision and leadership, Danbury will continue to be the top city to live, work and raise a family in Connecticut. I look forward to being part of the Esposito Administration.” said Nagarsheth.
Nagarsheth has a broad record of public service to the City of Danbury including serving on the Danbury City Council from 2003 until 2010 as well as the CityCenter Business Development Committee, Legislative Board of the Danbury Chamber of Commerce, City of Danbury Civil Service Commission, Danbury Lions Club, Friends of Danbury Library and the Environmental Impact Commission.
Nagarsheth holds an MBA, concentrated in Management and International Business from Sacred Heart University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.
