A professional writer with personal connections to “both sides of the law” has published a novel set within the justice system that entangles the characters in a web of love, betrayal, heartbreak and loss.
Pamela Brown, based in Connecticut, says “Faithful Love” is a contemporary romance adventure with a dose of mystery.
“I was inspired to write this book by my father, who was a detective,” Brown says. “His line of work always intrigued me, plus I pursued a law degree, so I centered the story on unforgettable characters who work in the exciting world of these two fields. I added in some action and emotional scenes of betrayal and heartbreak that shows the complexity of life but also highlights the power of love.”
Upon graduating from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Justice & Law Administration and a Master of Arts in English, Brown became an adjunct English professor at her alma mater. Nurturing a passion for writing, she pursued a career in journalism and became a freelance writer, something she has worked at for over 20 years and is still continuing as owner of PMB Writing & Consulting. Her portfolio spans magazines, newspapers, and nonprofits in Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York. As a single mom she raised a now-adult daughter who also graduated from WCSU.
But they find themselves attracted to each other. What follows is a story that blends tender scenes with fast-paced action and danger.
Brown started the book in the 1980s and in-between writing gigs found time to rethink and rewrite most of the novel to make it fresh and contemporary.
