Today, Mayor Dean Esposito announced that Danbury has been named one of the Best Small Cities in America (2023) by WalletHub.
In order to determine the best small cities in America, WalletHub compared 1,321 cities across five key dimensions:
1) Affordability
2) Economic Health
3) Education & Health
4) Quality of Life
5) Safety
For the sample, they selected cities with population sizes between 25,000 and 100,000 and considered only the “city proper” in each case, excluding cities in the surrounding metro area.
Danbury ranks in the 73rd percentile overall and has a score of 97 out of 100 in the category of Safety.
“I am extremely proud that Danbury was ranked one of the best small cities in America. Between our low taxes, outstanding schools, and exceptional public safety, Danbury is not only the envy of the rest of Connecticut, but is a shining star in U.S.,” said Mayor Esposito. “I want to thank the employees of the City of Danbury for going above and beyond the call of duty every day to provide our residents with the best possible services,” said Mayor Esposito.
