City of Danbury Election Results: Democrat Roberto Alves unseats incumbent Dean Esposito, a Republican to become City's new Mayor

Democrat Roberto L. Alves defeats incumbent Dean Esposito by a very small margin - 94 votes according to the Secretary of State (unofficial results).  Alves received 7,180 votes (49.46%) and 7,086 votes (48.81%).

Roberto immigrated to Danbury at five years old and grew up attending the Danbury public schools. He continues to live in the city with his wife, also a life-long Danbury resident, and his two children. 

Another tight race for Treasurer with Republican Daniel P. Jowdy defeating Michael J. Flanagan 7,485 votes to Flanagan’s 6,598 votes.
