OrthoConnecticut is happy to welcome Dr. Michael J. Sayegh as its newest orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Sayegh brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and a genuine passion for patient care to the team. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO GO INTO ORTHOPEDICS?

Throughout my training, I have witnessed the profound impact orthopedic surgeons have on their patients. Sharing in the joy of their successful treatments while continuously striving for better outcomes is incredibly rewarding. This positivity is contagious! Being a part of this exciting field allows me to serve my community and care for patients of all ages, which is truly a privilege.

WHAT ARE SOME EMERGING CHALLENGES IN YOUR FIELD?

Orthopedic surgeons continuously strive to meet the needs of our growing, active population—a challenge we embrace wholeheartedly. We rise to this challenge by leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovation, all within a supportive and collaborative environment.

WHAT ARE SOME NEW TECHNIQUES IN YOUR AREA OF SPECIALTY?

I enjoy incorporating new evolving techniques including minimally invasive strategies to best treat patients while expediting their recovery. Additionally, I am specifically excited about newer techniques in peripheral nerve reconstruction and microsurgery, including nerve transfers and soft tissue reconstruction.

WHY DO YOU LIKE BEING A DOCTOR?

It sounds cliché, but I truly enjoy the opportunity to help people. I am at peace coming home after a long day knowing that I am serving those in my community.

IF YOU HAD A DAY TO YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I would enjoy the time off with family and friends, sharing laughs and forming memories.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO JOIN ORTHOCONNECTICUT?

I chose to join OrthoConnecticut because of its well-established reputation. This practice brings together leaders in our field and prioritizes the highest standard of compassionate patient care in our communities. I am very thankful for the opportunity to take care of patients in the communities that I grew up in.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO BRING TO ORTHOCONNECTICUT?

I look forward to offering comprehensive upper extremity care from the shoulder to the hand, treating both urgent and chronic conditions in adult and pediatric patients. Also, I hope to provide additional expertise in peripheral nerve reconstruction including nerve transfers and nerve compression syndromes throughout the body including the brachial plexus.

Dr. Sayegh will be seeing patients in OrthoConnecticut’s Danbury and Ridgefield offices.
