WestConn to honor veterans at two public events in November

DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University will honor veterans at two public events in November. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the university’s Student Veterans Organization (SVO) will begin to place thousands of American flags in front of the Old Main Building on the Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Flag placement will begin at 9 a.m. and the public is invited to join WestConn’s SVO, Campus Police and members of the Danbury Fire and Police Departments in placing flags. The Field of Flags will remain in place until Tuesday, Nov. 12.

On Monday, Nov. 11, the university’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. in Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the Midtown campus. A luncheon will take place after the ceremony until 1 p.m. in White Hall, Room 127.
