Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
Yanilsa Sanchez founder of Dreamers Daycare
Why did you start your business?
I started my business because I have always loved to be around kids. I decided to open my business after working in a daycare center. I loved working with the kids and creating memories with them, so I decided to move on to owning my own Daycare so I could create lifelong memories with children and parents I’m working hard to make my business grow. I love what I do and will keep doing my best always.
What is your best-selling product/service?
The best service I provide is giving my children and families the best of me. I provide the children the opportunity to participate in dramatic play, math, science, music, gross-motor skills, fine-motor skills, sensory, and cognitive development, language, pre-reading and writing, and so much more. I encourage the verbal skills of the child by talking to the children, leading group discussions during circle time, and encouraging them to communicate with one another.
The business that helped me accomplish this dream and still is a great support is United Way. They helped me through the whole process and are now helping me prepare myself with more resources and education.
Have you reimagined your small business?
Yes! Everyday. I dreamed about having it and worked hard for it. Now I am looking for ways to make it better!
