Danbury's JK’s Texas Hot Weiners Closes Its Doors After Nearly 100 Years

A Danbury staple and beloved family business, JK’s Texas Hot Weiners, located at 126 South Street, closed its doors over the weekend. Both the property and the restaurant have been on the market for quite some time but the news still comes as a shock to locals who took to social media to express their sadness.

The popular restaurant was opened on White Street in Danbury in 1924 by George and Peter Koukos with the name "Original Texas Hot Weiners". Four generations and nearly one hundred years later, the family business became part of the fabric of the City of Danbury.

According to the Coldwell Banker the business and property are listed for $2,200,000 and the “status” says “under contract”. We do not have any additional information at this time.

We thank JK’s for all-star hotdogs and hospitality. You have truly left a hole in our hearts and our community.
