The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury is now accepting applications for the Fall Direct Service Certification Training. The training, geared towards individuals interested in volunteering at the Women’s Center, consists of a 48-hour state mandated curriculum, offered over the course of 2 weeks. Fall training dates are as follows:
September 6, 7, 8, & 9; 9:30am-4:30pm
September 12, 13, 14 & 15; 9:30am-4:30pm
Following certification, volunteer opportunities include Crisis Hotline (from home or on site), Group Facilitation, Court Advocacy & On-Site Administration. All trainings are held at our 2 West Street location in Danbury.
Because abuse does not discriminate, and to insure that our services are responsive to the needs of all individuals, we are actively recruiting volunteers who reflect the diversity of the Greater Danbury community. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
The Women's Center of Greater Danbury is a non-profit organization with a vision to end the violence against women, men and children and to foster equality and empowerment for all. We serve the needs of individuals and families in the Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield communities. We provide prevention, crisis intervention, and support services with regard to domestic violence, sexual assault, and other major life transitions. Our free and confidential services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We're here to talk about it.
