Early on this sunny and cold morning, students from the Center for Social Impact, Julia Bauer, Nicole Caraballo, Brandon Caraballo, Matt Eskenazi, Ben Holloway, Gib Shea, Silas Munk, and Bennett Wattles, enthusiastically collected turkeys and other donated food items from Wooster families, faculty, and staff into our own truck until 9:00 am. The Wooster team rolled into the Daily Bread parking lot Monday morning with over 100 turkeys, several "Grandma Miller’s" Vermont Bakery pies donated through the Parents’ Association efforts, and other food items. Once the collection on campus was complete, the students along with Mr. Noel Dominguez and Mrs. Megan Rajbanshi, made the delivery.
Upon arrival to Daily Bread, Jill Shaw, event coordinator expressed her gratitude to Wooster School for once again so generously providing turkeys for local families who are in need. Ms. Shaw also mentioned that this year, around 400 families who utilize this food pantry are struggling to afford basic necessities, and for Wooster School to continue to help means a great deal. The Wooster team spent an hour at the food pantry, helping other volunteers bag apples, potatoes, onions, and other food items, and to help out as needed, as today was distribution day. One of the volunteers gave a hug to each Wooster student and said that she loved the spirit that Wooster students bring with them to help others in the community.
