Ridgefield Thrift Shop Presents Danbury and Norwalk Hospitals with Grants

Ridgefield Thrift Shop Presents Danbury and Norwalk Hospitals with Grants of $3,000

Pictured left to right are Amy Lionheart, manager of volunteer services at Danbury Hospital, Gen Fagan, finance committee member of The Ridgefield Thrift Shop, and Lorraine Sutner, grants manager for Western Connecticut Health Network.

Gen presented a check for $3,000.00 to each hospital from the Ridgefield Thrift Shop.  The donation will be used to enhance an eight-week program at Danbury Hospital that provides hands-on healthcare experience to 16 through 23-year-olds interested in the field by exposing them to a medical environment.

Norwalk Hospital will use their donation from the Ridgefield Thrift Shop to provide supplies for their outreach program that volunteers use when visiting area schools to teach students about the hospital and relieve anxieties about a hospital visit.
