St Thomas sing-a-thon benefit a success for Bethel Food Pantry

The third-annual Joyful Noise sing-a-thon benefit the Bethel Food Pantry, held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bethel brought local musicians in to volunteer their time and talent on May 4.  The benefit raised more than $2,000 for the Bethel Community Food Pantry.

The musicians performed one after another for five hours in “A Joyful Sound,” an annual music festival at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church.  All donations received went to the Pantry.

Performing in the festival were St. Thomas’ choir, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Musicians, Steve O’Tree & Friends, Julie Sorcek, Bill Wisnowski, Maddie Golda, Tim McGrath, Jane Mead, the Saffron Quartet, Cate Wormell, Tamanna Aravind, Erik Tonner, Karie Neville and Lara Schuler.

This year’s festival honored the memory of Howard C. Blayney, who began organizing annual music festivals to benefit the Pantry in 2017.
The Bethel Community Food Pantry was founded at St. Thomas’ and distributes food and other necessities at Bethel United Methodist Church.
