The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut seeks submissions of various artistic projects or events offered during the national crises

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut seeks submissions of artistic projects or events that reflect recent national events.

Works created beginning in March and submitted by Aug. 7 will be considered for a showcase as part of a regional online event scheduled for October. The Alliance encourages all forms of artistic expression, including theater, literature, poetry, dance, music, and more. Works may be a response to Covid-19 and its related issues and/or the civic unrest due to racial inequalities and social injustice, or they may be related to providing respite to the public as a form of relief from the many challenges faced this year.

“Especially in the midst of a crisis and disruption, the arts have the unique ability to restore calm and to help us make sense of what’s happening around us,” said Cultural Alliance Executive Director Lisa Scails. “We are planning to bring attention to the work of creative story tellers, at a time when they are facing their own challenges, and still have the power to bring together, and to uplift.”

To submit a project or event for consideration, please complete an online form: https://forms.gle/q7PBPLh1RFCz5SDS7 For more information, email info@cawct.org.
