Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut invites you to a virtual (fundraising) celebration

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, reflecting the realities of the Covid-19 pandemic, has reimagined its annual Business Supports the Arts Breakfast into a virtual, weeks-long fundraising event and arts showcase.

During eight weeks of multimedia and online events, the Cultural Alliance will highlight the many ways that members of the regional community make “The Arts Greater Than.”

Greater Than events, with major support provided by People’s United Bank, include an online opening for The Arts Are Greater > Than on Nov. 13 and a virtual holiday luncheon and Regional Banner Reveal on Dec. 4.

Additional events will allow participants to share insights, inspire conversation and celebrate the arts as a powerful way to move all of us forward.

“During a time of great uncertainty, the Cultural Alliance has worked tirelessly to make certain the arts stay alive,” said Cultural Alliance Executive Director Lisa Scails. “Now we need support to be able to continue to celebrate and boost the arts in a way that benefits our artists, our economy and everyone who lives here.”

So far in 2020, the Cultural Alliance offered initiatives such as:

  •          Provided a central depository for Covid-19 resources, tools, opportunity, outreach, coordination, for the arts sector
  •          Empowered leaders to navigate issues on racial equality and social justice
  •          Advocated to ensure arts and culture are priorities in planning and funding
  •          Hosted small business development with a priority on the use of technology to build capacity
