DSABC partners with local restaurants to support mentoring and mental health in Danbury Public Schools

Dining for DSABC to Kick Off March 7 at Texas Roadhouse

Danbury Student and Business Connection (DSABC), the nonprofit providing school-based mentoring programs in Danbury Public Schools, today announced the launch of Dining for DSABC, a program created in conjunction with local restaurant owners to support both DSABC’s mission and area businesses.

“The business community champions DSABC’s programming, and our Dining for DSABC events allow us to bring that support back into our local economy by driving business to restaurants who have been hardest hit by the pandemic, while bringing a financial support to our critical mentoring and mental health programming,” said Susan Queenan, Executive Director of DSABC.

The first Dining for DSABC event will be on March 7, 2022 at Texas Roadhouse (74 Newtown Road, Danbury, CT). Patrons who dine with Texas Roadhouse or order meals to-go directly from the establishment will have the option to donate 10% of their bill to DSABC. Restaurant goers must mention DSABC to their server in order to participate in the fundraiser. “We are thrilled with the support from local restaurants to donate a percentage of sales to DSABC and we thank Loren Daly at Texas Roadhouse for her excitement in kicking this off,” added Queenan.

Dining for DSABC events will be announced on DSABC’s website and social media feeds. Local restaurants who are interested in participating in a future Dining for DSABC event can contact Susan Queenan, queens@danbury.k12.ct.us.

DSABC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 1990, that fosters collaboration among Danbury Public Schools, local businesses and the community to promote lifelong learning and the successful transition of youth into society and the workforce.
