Holiday Shopping Fundraiser at Danbury Fair Mall ReStore to Aid Non-Profits “A Brush With Kindness” Program

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity invites you to a cozy evening at its ReStore in the Danbury Fair Mall Tuesday, November 1st to kick off the holiday season and shop for upcycled holiday treasure.  The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. and guests will be one of the first to shop the store's sought-after best seasonal decor.

The fun and festivities will include: mulled cider & light bites, live holiday music, raffles and a special gift for each attendee.  The evening will also feature a special appearance by performers from Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance.  All proceeds will support the work Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is doing in the community including their “Brush With Kindness” program that provides free home repairs to veterans and senior citizens on low or fixed incomes.

“It’s a collection of some really fun one-of-a-kind items that we have been collecting all year long. We have some beautiful things, at really great prices,” says ReStore manager April van der Noll.  Donated Christmas decorations including nutcrackers, trees and wreaths of every size, ornaments, vintage ornaments, holiday dishware, vintage Flexible Flyer sleds, large lawn decorations, lights, as well as NEW holiday decor from local upscale shops will be for sale. “There’s still time to help. If you’re considering upgrading your Christmas decorations, don’t dump them, donate them!” says van der Noll.

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and all of the proceeds from ReStore sales go directly to fund Habitat’s affordable housing mission to put working families in their first homes throughout Fairfield and Litchfield counties. The organization just welcomed three new families to their forever homes in New Milford this week.  To learn more or to make a donation to Housatonic Habitat for Humanity head to www.housatonichabitat.org
