The Whiffenpoofs Holiday Concert and Martini Glass A Cappella in Danbury on Dec. 15

On Sunday, December 15 music lovers are in for a treat when The Whiffenpoofs perform their holiday concert at The Palace Danbury.

Every year, a group of rising Yale seniors are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. Founded in 1909, the “Whiffs” began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory’s Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern. Today, the group has become one of Yale’s most celebrated traditions.

The Whiffs have performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to Broadway’s Lincoln Center. They’ve been featured on TV shows from “60 Minutes” to “Gilmore Girls” and “Jeopardy!” They’ve also performed on “Saturday Night Live” and “Glee.”

Opening for the Whiffenpoofs will be Danbury’s own Martini Glass A Cappella. These very talented gals from the greater Danbury area have been performing together for over fifteen years. The last time they performed at The Palace they brought the house down with 2 standing ovations!!
