Danbury Youth Services hosts an Open House and Touch a Truck event on Saturday, October 1

Danbury Youth Services (DYS) invites the public to attend an Open House on Saturday, October 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 91 West Street in Danbury, CT.

The Open House will give community members the opportunity to learn about the programs and services DYS offers, tour the facility and meet the new Executive Director, Debra DeSantis-Lauzier. The event will feature a Touch a Truck hosted by the Danbury Fire and Police Departments. Light refreshments will be provided.

“I am thrilled to join Danbury Youth Services and want to reintroduce our agency to the community,” says DeSantis-Lauzier. “We are here for the kids and will continue to provide high-quality mental health care and valuable social educational programs for young people. In partnership with both the Danbury Fire and Police departments, we are excited to incorporate a Touch a Truck which will benefit youth of all ages. Youngsters can have fun exploring the trucks while teens will have the opportunity to learn about career opportunities in firefighting and law enforcement.”

DeSantis-Lauzier filled the role of Executive Director at DYS in July, 2022. She brings over twenty years of experience working with children and young adults as an educator and clinician.  In her role prior to joining DYS, DeSantis-Lauzier was a Clinical Director and Legal Advocate for Children statewide.
