Former City of Danbury Employee, Richard J. Antous, Jr., 59, has Died

Richard J. Antous, Jr., 59, of Danbury, husband of Jennifer (Scarglia) Antous, died on Thursday morning, March 16, 2023, at Danbury Hospital.

Affectionately known as “Rich” or “Richie”, he was born in Danbury on December 12, 1963, the son of the late Richard and Mary (Beck) Antous.

He attended Danbury schools and graduated from the University of Connecticut.

A lifelong Danbury resident, Rich was a former municipal employee of the City of Danbury being employed in the Office of the Mayor under the administration of former Mayor Mark D. Boughton.

With acquired culinary skills, Rich was a well-accomplished cook chef.

He was a member of the UConn Alumni Association, Lebanon-American Club, and St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife of seven years, he is survived by two stepsons, Braden and Seth Daley, and an “adopted” son Paul Mercier, an aunt and uncle Najlah and Raymond Antous, and many cousins and friends.

 He also leaves behind his beloved canine sidekick, Joad.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11 am in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Interment will be private and at the direction of the family.

Family and friends will be received in St. Anthony Maronite Church on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 930 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
