Wooster School Senior Ioanna Aspras of Danbury Commits to Pace University for Women's Volleyball

Wooster School proudly announces that Ioanna Aspras, a standout senior from Danbury, has signed her National Letter of Intent to join Pace University and compete on the esteemed women's volleyball team.

Surrounded by her parents Irene and Michale Aspras, as well as friends, teachers, coaches, and family, Ioanna celebrated this significant milestone on the Wooster campus, marking the culmination of her dedication and hard work.

With a remarkable volleyball journey spanning six years, Aspras initially discovered her passion for the sport while serving as a manager for her older sister's team. Immersed in the gymnasium, supporting her sister's team, Ioanna's interest in playing grew, leading her to venture onto the court herself in 7th grade.

Reflecting on her decision to continue her volleyball career in college, Aspras expressed, "Having had my first experience playing with older, more experienced players, I've developed a profound love and an undeniable desire to play at a higher level. I'm thrilled because I believe that playing in college will provide me with precisely that opportunity. I genuinely enjoy the game and perform better when challenged by skilled opponents."

When asked about her choice to attend Pace University, Ioanna shared her perspective, stating, "Besides the incredible chance to play volleyball, I was drawn to Pace due to its proximity to home. I preferred to stay within a reasonable distance, and Pace is ideally located for me. Additionally, with its second campus in New York City, I will have the unique advantage of taking classes there as well, providing me with the best of both worlds. Moreover, Pace embodies the school spirit I sought, boasts a perfect-sized population, and offers excellent class sizes, averaging around 23 students. In every aspect, Pace University exceeded my expectations."

Ioanna concluded, "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported and believed in me throughout my journey. I am beyond excited for the upcoming year and eagerly anticipate visiting Wooster frequently!"

Congratulations, Ioanna!

Pace University proudly competes in the NCAA Division II Northeast 10 Conference (NE10).
