The not-for-profit Friends of Harrybrooke Park will host their second annual Bourbon, Brew & Q Music Festival on Saturday, August 6th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. rain or shine. The Festival will feature the return of the popular Mason West country music band of Wolcott, Connecticut, and the modern country tribute band, Moonshine of Easton, Connecticut featuring David Robushi and Stefanie Dennis.
New Milford’s ‘famous’ Cookhouse, voted “Connecticut’s Best Barbecue” by “Connecticut Magazine”, will offer their award-winning BBQ foods for purchase during the Festival. The Cookhouse’s delicious BBQ dishes will include ribs, pulled pork, brisket, chicken, chili and more. Nejaime’s Wine and Spirits in New Milford will offer a fine array of bourbons, mash, whiskey, beer, wine or root beer for sale. The American Pie Company of Sherman will once again offer a variety of delicious sweets for purchase.
Harrybrooke Park’s privately-owned and maintained spacious 48 acres are ‘home’ to the Harden House Museum (now open for tours by appointment), two outdoor event pavilions, a duck pond, a variety of numerous nature trails, wetlands, a walking/bicycling loop and scenic views of the Still River. In 1965 the Park was generously left in trust for the people of New Milford by the late Frank Harden.
Hosts of the August 6 Festival, the Friends of Harrybrooke Park, is a non-profit volunteer organization committed to the preservation of the Park’s natural beauty and upkeep of the park’s facilities and the Harden House museum. Harrybrooke Park is open to the public at no charge from sunrise to sunset year round. Endowed by a trust fund, it is governed by a Board of Managers and receives no funding from the Town of New Milford.
