Women in the American Revolution at Danbury Library on March 10

Putting the "Her" in Heroics: Women in the American Revolution

Together, the Danbury Museum and Danbury Library are bringing a special historical program to Danbury for Women's History Month entitled "Putting the "Her" in Heroics, Women in the American Revolution" on Saturday, March 10th from 2-3:30pm at the Danbury Library.

In a PowerPoint presentation, Eric Chandler will introduce some of the women who risked their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to lift the yoke of British control of the 13 Colonies between 1775-1783.  Anna Maria Lane, Sally St. Claire and Elizabeth Zane are among the valiant women who are missing from history books leaving their stories as soldiers and spies left untold.

Eric Chandler has been involved in American Revolutionary War Living History since 1974.   A Norwalk, CT resident, Mr. Chandler has portrayed infantry, light infantry, whale-boat raider and both mounted and dismounted dragoons.

The program is free of charge.  Registration is requested at danburylibrary.org, click on "calendar" or call 203-797-4505, opt. 3.  The Danbury Library is located at 170 Main Street, Danbury, CT
