The Danbury Library to host Cyber Security event on March 14

The Danbury Library will host "Cyber Security: Protecting Your Personal Information in the Digital Age" on Wednesday, March 14th from 5-7pm.

Anyone concerned in protecting their identity and personal information from theft and misuse will benefit from this seminar conducted by Richard Gunzel, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Secure I.T. Risk Solutions, LLC. 

"Participants will gain insights into the methods used by cybercriminals to steal personal information and learn various techniques to enhance their own security," explained Sondra Grossi, Senior Computer Technician at the Library. "Also included will be how the new "chip" credit and ATM cards enhance protection, threats imposed by ransomware, and strategies to protect or minimize the impact of such attacks on a victim's data."

Mr. Gunzel is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. He was formerly a Senior Vice President, Data Protection at Citigroup.  He has completed numerous industry-sponsored external and corporate provided trainings in various areas of information technology, data security, and broadband networking.
