Jesus Christ Superstar Sing-A-Long Experience in Danbury!

Prepare for a Rock Opera Extravaganza of epic proportions when The Palace Danbury presents the Jesus Christ Superstar Sing-A-Long Experience. On June 22, the dazzling 1973 film version of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera will come to the theatre. Watch this beloved big screen musical with complete freedom to sing along. There will be subtitles to assist you and original cast members to keep you in tune!

MEET THE FILM'S STAR TED NEELEY IN PERSON

Actor/singer/musician Ted Neeley will be joining us for this screening! Come early and meet the man who, 45 years after this film’s release, is still touring the world with the stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar, performing the role that made him a rock icon. PLUS Bob Bingham, the actor who played Caiaphas will be at this screening too.

This mind-blowing feature film, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Norman Jewison (Academy Award Best Director of Fiddler on the Roof, Moonstruck, In The Heat of The Night), tells the story of the final six days in the life of Jesus Christ through the troubled eyes of his exasperated friend Judas Iscariot, who feels that Christ and his fellow apostles may have lost sight of their core mission.

Shot entirely on location in Israel with the cast walking in the footsteps of the actual biblical characters they portrayed, Jesus Christ Superstar features epic sets, unforgettable ’70-era costumes, and of course, an explosive set of songs that range in style from stage to disco to funk to rock – all of which add up to make Jesus Christ Superstar arguably the best rock opera ever written.
