Family Days at the Danbury Farmers’ Market on August 11

Family Days at the Danbury Farmers’ Market

Family Day at the Danbury Farmers’ Market is back! Last year’s co-hosted event with Macaroni Kid was such a success that there will be a series of three co-hosted dates this summer on July 14, August 11, and September 22.

In addition to the regular weekly farmers' market vendors, local family-oriented businesses were invited to come down to the Danbury Green to take part in the day.

On Saturday, July 14 from 10am to 2pm, families can enjoy free craft activities with Macaroni Kid, a kids’ scavenger hunt with prizes, a visit from Westy of the Danbury Westerners, photos with characters from CT Princess Parties, live music, and two nutrition workshops (10:30am and 12:00 noon).

Meghan Friedland comments that “Attending your local farmers' market is a great way to teach kids about healthy foods and get them excited about trying new fruits and veggies… When kids help to pick and prepare new foods, they are more likely to try them. Wouldn't it be great to add some new fruits or veggies to your go-to snacks for your child's lunch box this fall?”

If any vendors are interested in attending any future Family Day events, Macaroni Kid of Danbury-Bethel-Ridgefield can be reached at meghanf@macaronikid.com
