The Danbury Music Centre presents Danbury Concert Chorus: Sure on this Shining Night, Songs & Choral Classics from the early 20th Century on November 16th, 7:00 pm at St. James Church in Danbury.
The Danbury Concert Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Jason Thoms, will perform choral classics from the early 20th Century.
Highlights include:
- Benjamin Britten’s cantata, Rejoice in the Lamb
- William Dawson’s,There is a Balm in Gilead and Ain’a that Good News
- Peter Wilkowsky’s, dynamite arrangement of Battle Hymn of the Republic
- Samuel Barber’s tender, Sure on this Shining Night
- Kirby Shaw’s arrangement of If I Loved You (from Carousel)
- A Century of Song – an unforgettable Irving Berlin medley
