Western Connecticut State University will hold its first virtual job fair on Wednesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 21, for WCSU students and alumni.
Eastern Connecticut State University is also a host of the job fair, which is sponsored by virtual event host Jobs Connected and will run from noon to 5 p.m. both days. Eastern and Western welcome other current and former Connecticut State University students to attend as well.
Students and alumni must register before gaining access to the fair. Registration is available by visiting www.jobsconnected.com/connecticut-state-university/.
Kathleen Lindenmayer, director of WCSU Career Services, said more than 80 businesses and organizations have signed up to meet and interview students. Informational booths with advice and support for job- and advice-seekers will also be available.
WCSU is also featuring a nationally-recognized networking leader, Jaymin Patel, to kick off the week of the Fair. Patel will offer 90 minutes of “How to network like a Rockstar Virtually During Uncertainty” at noon on May 18. Attendees must register for this event as well and the first 100 registrants will receive a networking e-book to provide more guidance through the process. “These are tough times to find new employment, but that means we have to take advantage of every opportunity,” Lindenmayer said. “The virtual career fair is a wonderful opportunity to continue or begin your job search.”
