Artists Sunday will connect consumers with an art marketplace

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut will connect artists with shoppers during the holiday season, culminating with Artists Sunday, a virtual online marketplace.

Artists Sunday is part of The Arts Are > Greater Than fundraising series to reveal the many ways we, as a community, make The Arts Greater Than.

Artists Sunday is a national marketing campaign and event that encourages consumers to purchase from artists and craftsmen on Nov 29, the Sunday after Thanksgiving. It follows Black Friday and Small Business Saturday and is the day before Cyber Monday — the largest shopping weekend of the year.

The Cultural Alliance will release interviews with featured artists on the CAWCT.org website throughout the day while sharing highlights of their work and inspirations, along with purchasing information. Local professional artists who wish to be interviewed may sign up here.

“This is one more way the Cultural Alliance can support artists,” said Executive Director Lisa Scails. “And it is even more important during the pandemic, when consumers may be uncertain about going out to shop. With Artists Sunday, original art will be available with the click of a mouse.”

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is the heart of the region’s creativity to help communities connect and thrive. We are a 501C-3 and regional service organization serving 10-towns in the Greater Danbury area. Our aspiration is to improve access and growth of arts and culture to improve quality of life and the economy.
