Danbury Friday Night PopUp & Play Event Series Gains Momentum

Inaugural season is drawing interest from various local businesses and stakeholders

A little more than a week ahead of the first Friday night “PopUp & Play” event, collaborators say the excitement is building.

Thanks to the support of local property owner and landlord DaSilva Realty, event activities will use many of its recently renovated storefronts, in addition to outdoor space along Main Street.

The response from local makers and small businesses has been strong for this new event series. As of today, vendors for the month of June include a handmade card business, a handmade bathing suit shop, and a pet-themed accessory shop. In addition to retail vendors, the series will feature experiences such as Art Vibes, a unique pop-up paint-and-sip event, and free table tennis from PoP Table Tennis, which will occupy outdoor space (weather permitting). Interested vendors are encouraged to apply for pop-up space through the Blue Haus Group website.

The “PopUp & Play” event series will run along Main Street every Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm, June through August.

CityCenter Danbury and Blue Haus Group, a Hartford-based real estate and economic development firm are teaming up to bring some foot traffic to the Main St business district this summer. The intent of the activations is to provide a diversity of options to attract foot traffic to support local businesses still reeling from the effects that COVID has had on the local economy.
