Free seminar in Danbury to prepare your business for surviving a disaster

DANBURY — If you have put off thinking about how your business will recover after a disaster, now is the perfect time to learn all you can about steps to strengthen your operation and keep it open in case of unlucky circumstances.

The Dennis Perkins Farmers Insurance Agency offers a free Lunch and Learn at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, at the Thyme Café in Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury.

Your business could be threatened by:

  •        A regional disaster like a hurricane
  •        A fire in the building where you have your office
  •        Or a problem that affects only you, like a water or sewage leak in your building.

Dennis Perkins and Barry Rickert will guide you through a 30-minute overview of the planning steps that will allow you:

  •        To reopen quickly in your own building
  •        Or move the business off-site to a place that is safer for your customers and employees.

As well as who to notify, how to get a quick insurance payment, and how to develop a business continuity plan before a disaster shuts down your business operation.

Perkins is a lifelong Danbury resident and owner of the agency that offers a full spectrum of insurance for auto, home, pet, life and business including Business Continuity Insurance.

Rickert, the agency’s Business Development representative, served Danbury for 35 years as a firefighter and fire marshal, and most recently was the emergency management director for the town of Southbury.

After their presentation, enjoy a complimentary lunch prepared by the students at Henry Abbott Technical High School, 21 Hayestown Ave., in Danbury.

The event will wrap up at noon so that you can get back to the business of your business.
