Danbury Veterans Walkway of Honor

The Veterans Walkway of Honor at the Danbury War Memorial will be taking final orders for bricks through Monday, October 8th, just in time for Veterans Day. Once the deadline has passed, no other orders will be taken. This will be the last opportunity to purchase bricks!

Project organizer, Lee Teicholz, stated that brick sales have gradually declined over the years and it is no longer economically beneficial to the Danbury War Memorial to continue the fundraiser.  "It's with great sadness that the project must be brought to a close," he stated. The project began in 2013 and over 510 bricks have been purchased and placed in the walkway since then.  Profits from the fundraiser have been shared between the Danbury War Memorial and numerous other veteran organizations.

There are no restrictions for residency on veterans. Any and all veterans who served the country are invited to purchase a brick or bricks can be purchased as gifts to honor a veteran.

The 4x8 brick can be purchased for $75 and the 8x8 brick can be purchased for $150.  Logos can be added for an additional cost of $25.

The Veterans Walkway of Honor will remind present and future generations that freedom is not free and that free people must always be prepared to defend that freedom at whatever cost. The walkway is meant to inspire visitors and instill a sense of pride and respect for all veterans who have served in the U.S. military.

The named person must be a veteran, living or deceased, of any branch of the U.S. military, including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Merchant Marines who have been granted veteran status.

Don’t miss this final opportunity to be part of a permanent display to those who served our country!  For more information, please visit www.veteranswalkwayofhonor.org or contact Lee Teicholz at (203)748-0723.
