Help bring back a piece of Danbury’s history!

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton has launched an initiative to bring back a piece of Danbury’s history, nearly 4 decades after the last Great Danbury State Fair.

The Uncle Sam statue that once stood at the welcome gates of the Danbury Fair is ready to be purchased from the Magic Forest Amusement Park in Lake George, NY. It is said to be the largest Uncle Sam statue in the world!

To honor our history and keep a piece of the Fair alive in our city, Mayor Boughton asks residents and anyone who wishes to preserve Danbury’s history, to consider donating to our GoFundMe page.

“The Uncle Sam statue represents a cherished memory for so many of us in our community and we want to honor that,” said Mayor Boughton. “If the Fair had a special meaning for you or your family, we hope this initiative will inspire you to show your Danbury pride and help us achieve this goal.”

The requested funds will purchase, transport, and restore the Uncle Sam statue.
