Danbury's Veterans Walkway of Honor Final Installation To Be Extended

The Veterans Walkway of Honor will be taking final brick orders through April 22, 2019 for Memorial Day. Organizers stated that since a brick order has to be placed to replace damaged bricks in the walkway, there is no reason additional orders can't be added to that order.

Project organizer Lee Teicholz stated, "We had an overwhelming response to the final brick order date with an additional 125 bricks being added to the walkway, so I would like to extend the opportunity to add additional bricks to those who may have missed the deadline."

A 4x8 brick can be purchased for $75 and the 8x8 brick can be purchased for $150. Stock logos are an additional $25. Bricks may be engraved with the name, rank and service branch of family, friends and loved ones who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces. Bricks may be in honor of those who are still living, missing in action, on active duty or in memory of those who are deceased.

Mayor Mark Boughton said, "The Veterans Walkway of Honor is a unique addition to the memorials in Rogers Park. As future generations travel the special path, they will be reminded of those who have served our country, and who have fought for our freedoms; hopefully bringing a sense of American pride to each visitor."
