Mayor Mark Works on Danbury Payback for Comedian John Oliver!

Danbury residents have a standing invite to get a thrashing from John Oliver. Why? We're not really sure. The comedian does mention some of Danbury's historical treasures, but he also does his fair share of mocking.

After comedian John Oliver mocks Danbury (using expletives) on his HBO show saying, "If you're going to forget a town in Connecticut, why not forget Danbury?[expletive]. From its charming Railway Museum to its historic hearthstone castle...Danbury, Connecticut can eat my [expletive]."

Oliver went on to say, "I know exactly three things about Danbury: USA Today ranked it the second-best city to live in (2015), It was once the center of the American hat industry, and, if you're from there, you have a standing invite to get a thrashing from John Oliver (children included)."

Of course, the city's biggest fan and supporter (and Twitter pro) Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton has now taken on a new project - his name is John Oliver. The Mayor responds on Twitter (@MayorMark) with this:

"Hey, @iamjohnoliver don't worry, we are working on some Danbury payback for you. Oh, and I will not hesitate to throw the hands... #bringit @HBO".
