Danbury Proton CON application deemed complete

Danbury Proton, a revolutionary new $80 million proton therapy cancer treatment center proposed at 85 Wooster Heights, reached a major milestone when the State of Connecticut Office of Health Strategy (OHS) recently deemed their Certificate Of Need Application (CON) to be complete.

Danbury Proton can now continue to the next phase in the CON process, which is for OHS to schedule a public hearing on their application. Due to COVID-19, all OHS hearings are being conducted online using Zoom. No specific date for the hearing has yet been established by OHS.

Since Danbury Proton first announced the project in April, the response from the Danbury community and elsewhere across the State has been overwhelmingly positive and encouraging. Danbury Proton anticipates creating over 100 construction jobs. When operational in 2023, over 30 full-time medical and administrative jobs will be created.
