And... a deal's a deal. In early September, Oliver promised to donate $55,000 to Connecticut Food Bank, DonorsChoose Danbury Teachers, and the ALS Association Connecticut Chapter IF he gets his namesake sewer plant.
Mayor Mark shot back with one contingency, Oliver had to travel to Danbury for the re-naming Ribbon Cutting ceremony!
BAM. He's coming! But, when? Mayor Mark says he's "sworn to secrecy" and there will be absolutely no spectators or guests permitted to attend.

He went on to say, "I know exactly three things about Danbury: USA Today ranked it the second-best city to live in (2015), It was once the center of the American hat industry, and, if you're from there, you have a standing invite to get a thrashing from John Oliver (children included)."
And so it began...
