Danbury Water Department Maintenance

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at approximately 9 PM the West Lake Water Treatment Plant will be shut down in order to replace a valve as part of our Valve Replacement Program.  The West Lake Plant will remain shut down until approximately 9 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.  Customer water supply will not be impacted as the Margerie Water Treatment Plant will provide water to all customers throughout the time that the West Lake Plant is shut down.

There is a chance that some customers may experience discolored water during the West Lake Plant shut down period due to changes in normal flow direction in some parts of the water system.  If you experience discolored water run your cold water tap until it clears.   Should you experience discoloration, postpone washing clothes and limit your use of hot water until the cold water clears.

As soon as the West Lake Plant shut down has ended, water department crews will be initiating a hydrant flushing program as necessary to alleviate any discolored water that may or may not arise from this shut down. We will issue further notifications as needed. We thank you for your patience and understanding in these matters.

Updates, if required, will be posted on the City of Danbury website, www.danbury-ct.gov.
