Cultural Alliance hosts Walk in Their Shoes program to address diversity, equity, and inclusion

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut announces two winter cohorts now open for “Walk in Their Shoes” an intensive program to address diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Classes begin in February and seats are still available by registering at https://walk-in-their-shoes.mn.co/

The program states that it helps participants “move empathy into action and create sustainable change.” Participants are offered “the space needed to unpack generational racial disparities. Through small, highly interactive sessions, you’ll develop a better understanding about anti-racism, get the tools you need, be better equipped in your work.”

“Walk in Their Shoes” offers two pathways. A foundational class for people who have not experienced much training in diversity, equity and inclusion, and an advanced class, which is is an implementation program for those who have gone through any basic training program around the issues. Each course is completed within three weeks over five to six sessions.

Both training programs are designed to be small, highly interactive, and with real-world applications. Participants develop a personal understanding of anti-racism and become better equipped to have practical application and meaningful conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion.
