The Danbury High School cheerleading team finished third in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference on Saturday’s competition at Wilton High School.
“When we started our season in May with tryouts, we only had six girls returning from last year so we had a very young and new team,” said head coach JoAnn Tatarzycki. “This is definitely one of the hardest working groups that we have had and they are still making progress every week.”
“We conditioned all summer and fall in the weight room, did cardio work outside on the track and took tumbling classes every week to get these girls in shape to handle a 2 ½ minute routine full of elite skills,” Tatarzycki said. “It’s not always easy, but it definitely pays off.”
