Megan Elaine (O'Neill) Moore passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on February 14th, 2017 at Danbury Hospital.
Megan was at once a mother, a wife, a sister, an aunt and daughter, and also a special friend to so many. She was born in Danbury on September 2nd, 1966 and lived here most of her life.
She was a traveler and adventurer in her earlier years and a social worker dedicated to helping others in her later years; but her greatest passion was being a mother and her legacy will live on in her children.
She loved to write, she liked to talk, was a great listener and she loved to laugh. Laughter brought her solace and peace throughout the tragedies of her short life and was a guiding force in her recoveries from recent medical issues that left her in pain. We are grateful she is no longer suffering; but she will be greatly missed by so many. Her laughter and love will live on in those who knew her.
Megan is survived by her loving husband, Russell, daughter Lacey, and sons Michael and William. She was predeceased by her father, Dr. Frederick O'Neill, and first husband, Ronald Gereg.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Jowdy Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, interment will be private and at the direction of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made towards her son William's continuing education at www.gofundme.com/william-moores-college-fund.
