Christian Morris of Danbury Signs with Sacred Heart for Track & Cross Country

Student-athletes from Immaculate High School (IHS) made their commitments to colleges for Fall 2017 at a special signing ceremony recently. Caroline Beal of Newtown and Christian Morris of Danbury signed National Letters of Intent.

Caroline Beal will attend Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where she will continue to pursue her swimming talents. “While at Immaculate Caroline was instrumental, along with Ayanna Simmons ‘18 of Danbury, with our inaugural season of a Girls Swim team,” said IHS Athletic Director Jeff Castaldi.  Caroline represented Immaculate High School at New Fairfield High School her freshman year, then with the “Wildstangs” co-op with Bethel High and was an immediate success, placing 7th in the Class M meet that season.  “As an honor roll student completing many hours of community service, Caroline was able to put her stamp on our girls swim team,” said Mr. Castaldi.  “She has been named All SWC as well as a member of the Class M and Class L All State teams. Caroline is only the second Immaculate athlete named to the Class L All State team,” he added.

Christian Morris will attend Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, where he will continue his track and cross country career. “Christian has been a member of Conference and State Championship teams this past winter season as our Boys Indoor Track team won the SWC and Class S State Championships,” said Mr. Castaldi.  “Christian exemplifies the true meaning of a student-athlete as he is an honor roll student and a rare three-sport athlete competing on our Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track teams.  He has been named 1st team All SWC, 2nd team All SWC and is a Class S State Champion in the 600m and the 4x400 relay team.  Christian has certainly left his mark on Immaculate High School athletics,” he noted.

Immaculate High School is a private, non-profit Catholic college-preparatory institution serving students from 28 communities in Connecticut and New York. Founded in 1962, Immaculate High School also allows students to focus on their spiritual development, personal moral commitments and service to others.  Located in Danbury, CT, Immaculate High School is part of the Diocese of Bridgeport’s parochial school system.
