Lifelong Danbury resident, David Richard Patton Sr., 65, has died

David Richard Patton Sr., 65, of Danbury, sadly departed this world on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin, and dear friend.

Mr. Patton was born on August 10, 1951. A lifelong Danbury resident, he was retired from Marcus Dairy. He worked hard his entire life, and when he wasn’t working he was on a soccer field, either as a coach, a proud father, or both. He will always be remembered as a beloved soccer coach for many girls’ travel teams. His fun sense of humor and infinite wisdom will be missed by all. “Poppy knows everything” was a phrase spoken about him by his grandchildren on a daily basis. He never stopped lending a hand when it was needed, even until his last moments.

Mr. Patton is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Deborah (Iovino) Patton, as well as his parents John and Jessie Mae (Edwards) Patton. He is sadly missed by his children: David Patton Jr., Daniel Patton, Kristen Luchsinger and husband Tim, Kathleen Patton, Douglas Patton and fiancé Yessie Amador, Dennis Patton and wife Jennifer, and Erin Patton and fiancé Ian Merritt.

He was predeceased by his daughter Diana and son Drew.

Mr. Patton is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Matthew, Madison, Drew, Brett, Alisa, Krystianna, Piper, and Brooks.

In addition to his wife, parents, children, grandchildren, and their families, David is survived by his siblings: Jack Patton and wife Joan, Kathleen Pawson and husband Donald, Lois (Becky) McKee and husband David, Linda Laboy and husband Ramon, and Michael Patton and girlfriend Catherine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A quote that best describes this incredible man:

“A good man will never harm or oppress another. A good man will share his last morsel of food with others in need and die of hunger when he no longer has any food instead of cheat or steal from others to survive. Selflessness. Humility. Truthfulness. These are the three marks of an honorable man.” -Author Unknown
