Danbury Library seeks teens to join its Teen Council to conduct community service

The Danbury Library is looking for enthusiastic students in grades 6-12 who would like to have fun with fellow students and help out the Library by participating in the Library's Teen Council.  The first meeting of the Council will be held on Monday, February 5th from 5 to 6pm and meetings continue monthly on the first Monday of each month.

Throughout the year Council members sign up to assist at various library activities such as special holiday events, International Games Week, as well as the Library's annual summer reading program.  The Council meets monthly to plan future activities and provide input on the library's teen programs and services.

Prior to the February 5th meeting, interested teens should complete and return the Library's volunteer application to the Teen Librarian, Deirdre Johnson.  Applications are available online at danburylibrary.org by clicking on "Learn" & "Teens" and they are also available at the Junior Services Desk.

The program is offered free of charge.  For additional information contact Deirdre Johnson, Teen Librarian at djohnson@danburylibrary.org or call her at 203.797.4505 x 7716.  The Danbury Library is located at 170 Main Street, Danbury, CT.
