Immaculate High School Grad Takes 2nd in Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championship

Congratulations to Ridgefield resident, Jenna Gasparrini, sophomore at College of the Holy Cross who came in second place in the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championship held yesterday, Saturday, February 17 at Bucknell University’s Gerhard Field House in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

Gasparrini ran a 17:01.97  for 5,000 meters (3.1) miles, achieving a PR (personal record) and nearly breaking the Holy Cross college record.

Bucknell junior Colleen Buckley won the 5000-meter run by over six-seconds with a time of 16:55.89. Navy sophomore Grace West finished third in 17:06.93.

Gasparrini graduated from Immaculate High School in 2016 where she was Captain of the girls cross country and track teams under the guidance of Coach Brian Hayes.

The Patriot League is in its third decade of academic and athletic achievement, continually demonstrating that student-athletes can excel at both academics and athletics without sacrificing high standards.
