Wooster School Ultimate Frisbee Selected To Prestigious New England Tournament

The Wooster School Ultimate Frisbee team is having its finest year in school history, currently with a record of 19-2!  The team is currently ranked 3rd in the nation and 1st in the state of Connecticut.

At the recently completed state tournament, the team finished number one in their pool, beating Xavier 11-1, Newtown 11-1, and then Watkinson 9-4. The team advanced to the semifinals and secured a win over upcoming Sheehan High School, 11-6.  Wooster moved on to the finals against Hotchkiss but lost 6-9, therefore finishing 2nd in the state, the school's highest finish in a major tournament.

The team secured, for the first time ever, the #1 seed in the Housatonic Valley Athletic League (HVAL) Tournament. After advancing through the semifinals with a 15-4 win over Chase Collegiate School, the tournament finals have been postponed, due to this week’s storm damage and power outages. A new date for the championship date is TBD.

The team has, for only the second time in school history, qualified to play in the First Division of the New England Prep School Ultimate League (NEPSUL) Tournament. Wooster goes in as the 2nd seed in a tournament with only nine teams from all over New England, including Northfield Mount Hermon, Phillips Academy, Hotchkiss School, Deerfield Academy, Watkinson School, Marianapolis Prep, Choate Rosemary Hall, and Concord Academy. The tournament will be held on Saturday, May 19, starting at 9:00 am at Northfield Mount Hermon.
