Meet Danbury Resident and RVNA Clinical Specialist, Marie Ann Morneau

You would never guess that Marie Ann Morneau has been with RVNA less than a year. She fits right in and has made a big impact on our clinical team in a very short time.

In her role as a clinical specialist, Marie’s focus is on Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement … aka QAPI, assuring that RVNA clinical processes are in place to maintain and improve our already high standards.

Where did you grow up and where do you live now?

I grew up in the Bronx, New York. I currently live in Danbury, CT and have lived here for about 14 years.

How long have you been at RVNA?

I have been at RVNA for almost 8 months.  The time is flying by.

What brought you here?

One of the things that drew me to RVNA is the presence the company has in the Ridgefield community and beyond. RVNA is much smaller than the last agency I worked at, and it feels like a family! I like that everyone is so welcoming. Also, two nurses I used to work with were already working at RVNA… so, that helped in my decision.

Describe your role at RVNA.

I work as part of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Team as a clinical specialist.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is working with the clinicians on how to improve their documentation and charting. I enjoy educating and seeing the clinicians progress. I started as a nurse case manager at RVNA, so it’s great to be able to bring my clinical skills to the QAPI dept.

What do you love to do when you’re not working?

Free time… what free time? When I’m not working, I’m busy taking my kids to different activities like wrestling and Irish dance classes. I love the outdoors, and try to get outside for walks when I can. I also try to take time to read a good book, listen to music, or watch Netflix to relax! Downtime is important to recharge.

What is your hidden talent?

My hidden talent? I like to sing, but no one outside of my kids and husband have actually heard me… at least recently!

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions?

My New Year’s resolution is to make sure I carve a little time out of the day for self-care. I’m trying to stick to my exercise routine more because I feel so much better when I do.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would definitely put money away for my kids’ college tuition, and for retirement. I would also use some of the money for travel! My parents both emigrated from Ireland, and I absolutely love it there. I would probably go over more often to visit family and friends.  I might even buy a small cottage there.

Do you have a favorite RVNA moment or story?

My favorite moment at RVNA so far has been dressing up with my teammates Mary Frances, Jill, and Lidia as the “Four Stars” for Halloween.  In the work that we do, we are always shooting for the stars.
